I think she sounds rather nice here :-) this is a lyric and melody I’ve had floating around for a while always thinking it was going to grow into something else/more. Always the danger with a tune you think still has something to give, maybe it doesn’t, is the problem.
lyrics
The first time that I met you girl,
I could tell that you’d been crying,
I could tell that you’d been crying girl,
And I just wanted to fix you.
The first time that I met you girl,
I could feel those wheels flip into motion,
Feel that slow turn start to moving,
As we made a connection.
So please help me see,
Help me breathe,
More than I can now
Cos I’ve been calling, I’ve been crawling, I’ve been calling,
But I can’t survive love.
Love’s a different kind of reaction,
A different kind of distraction,
When all you want to do is make it.
Can you not see?
When you’re crawling on your knees,
Begging life to take it easy,
You’re missing the point,
Think about your journey,
Not your destination,
Your journey,
Not your destination.
So please help me see,
Help me breathe,
More than I can now
Cos I’ve been calling, I’ve been crawling, I’ve been calling,
But I can’t survive love.
If the night didn’t come we’d never see the stars.
So please help me see,
Help me breathe,
More than I can now
Cos I’ve been calling, I’ve been crawling, I’ve been calling,
But I can’t survive love.
