Everyone who’s going through a rough patch at the moment, for whatever reason, you’re not alone. Keep your chin up my friends.
There was a time when the sound of an ice cream van coming was nothing short of magical, because I heard it so little. That’s changed, but the memory of the magic remains and I obviously still associate ice cream with comfort and good vibes \m/.
I’ve been working on this idea for a while, it’s been part of two co-writing sessions I’ve done, one a few months ago with Parisch Browne and another a few years ago with SJ McArdle. It’s nice to know that I do eventually get around to getting things done… eventually…. Did I ever mention that my first ep is called ‘A Long Time Coming‘? Well, there’s a reason!
My favourite bit in this is the vibraslap. I’m a goof that way :)
lyrics
I can feel it coming, I can feel it on my face,
My eyes are closed but I can see the sun shining,
Blossoms on the trees, people chilling out upon the lawn,
Love is in the air and in the joy that you can hear from the ice cream van song.
Rain might come for a little while,
But sun returns to light your fire.
Everything is gonna be alright,
Everything is gonna be alright,
Everything is gonna be alright,
Everything is gonna be alright.
We all got our own weights to bear,
The past, the future, woulda, coulda, shoulda, it's not fair.
Boy, you're gonna carry that weight somehow,
Girl, you're gonna figure it out now.
Every now and then we're down,
But that is life, just stand proud.
Everything is gonna be alright,
Everything is gonna be alright,
Everything is gonna be alright,
Everything is gonna be alright.
